• Before anyone can answer the poll, we maybe should qualify what “saved” means. To the Jew it clearly had always meant deliverance from Philistine Famine and Plaque. The idea of “saved” being about heaven when you die has little mention in the Old Testament. When Jesus walked, his ministry was along the lines of saving people in the way that the Jew expected. ie. healing, feeding, and freedom from bondage (demons). “Heaven when you die” features in only a small part of the gospel messages.

8 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

This start of Jesus’s ministry is all about the “today” of the Jew’s lives, not when we die. His continuous preaching of the “gospel” was by stating “the kingdom of heaven is near unto you”, again emphasising the same “today” concept salvation. Salvation is an ongoing daily blessing of healing, fulfillment, and deliverance from bondage, simply living in heavenly places whilst on earth. Living in that same presence of God just continues seamlessly when we pass from this life to the next.

This is why Paul emphasises that our salvation is new every day, ie. not about when we die. That is just a “given”, it’ll happen when the day comes.

Understanding the Gospel of the cross is foolishness to the unbeliever. Understanding that Jesus was not just Messiah but also God was a concept that even the disciples didn’t all grasp until the resurrection. However Jesus clearly considered them to be righteous men when he called them to himself.

Matt16v13…………Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Here Peter calls him the Christ, however few Jews understood that the Christ would also be God.

From my own experience, I was born again alone in my bedroom as a child. I had non-christian parents and had never gone to church. I experienced the love of God through the Holy Spirit drawing me to Himself and I surrendered. I was a child and had no theological comprehension, and had no idea of the part that Jesus played in my salvation. I didn’t have the cross preached to me until maybe 15 years later at the age 24. At that point I met some evangelists.

I at first refused their advances because I had already been given some amazing heavenly revelations during my childhood and was never going to allow myself to be caught up in some religion, even if it was Christian.

Some time after my first encounter with God, whilst with a bunch of other school kids, an argument started. I was not part of it but listening on the edge.
Someone asked the question, “OK then, who goes to heaven and who goes to hell”. The group was a bunch from the youth club which was at the local Anglican Church hall. Everyone, when the question was asked, turned around to look at Tony who was the altar boy and he would know the answer because he was nearer God!
Tony just pompously answered, “that’s easy, good people go to heaven and bad people go to hell”.

As he said that something was happening to me. It was as if a blanket of understanding descended over me from heaven. I heard words speaking inside me. “He is totally wrong, everyone is bad, I am bad, BUT GOD HAS MADE A WAY”.
As my eyes turned around to face Tony, I had to scan over the church building. God also said, “I do not live in that building, I live in your heart”!

From that event and my initial meeting with God, I just knew where I stood with Hoim. Or at least I thought I did. I was still very ignorant as to what my response to it should be. I just got on with my life and was as bad as any other young man.

So at the age of 24 when the evangelists tried to persuade me to become a Christian, as far as I was concerned, God had clearly spoken that he didn’t dwell in the church, so why ever would I join a church. It was only when God himself revealed that the One they were talking about, was the one I already knew, that I allowed myself to surrender and finally let Jesus become the Lord of my life.

However it is abundantly clear that although I had been born again for maybe 15 years,I knew absolutely nothing about Jesus for most of that time.

The blood that Jesus gave on the cross is the only way of salvation. However having an understanding that issue is clearly not necessary for heaven when you die. So what value the gospel, simply it is the POWER of God for salvation, AS AN ONGOING EVENT IN THIS LIFE, STARTING NOW.
Yes, it all starts with the gift of an eternal, Kingdom of God quality of life which starts immediately, it does not start after death.
That is what the bible says.

As for : Poll: Does a Person Need to Explicitly Believe Jesus Is God to Be Saved? Yahuah is our Heavenly Father, Yahushua is His only begotten Son. Yahuah’s commandments makes it very clear Not to bring his NAME to NAUGHT! Yahushua right NOW is SITTING BESIDE HIS FATHER! There are two, do not be deceived.
How do you become saved? Yahuchannon 3:18 makes it very clear.. unless you believe IN HIS SON’S NAME you are condemned already.
Acts 4:12 Makes it very clear that there is NO OTHER NAME GIVEN AMONG MEN WHEREBY YOU MUST BE SAVED.., now if your calling on them pagan titles of the adversary.. lord=ba’al Hosea 2:17, god = fortune, christ = christos! je’ sus = Ihsous = hail zeus..then you had best do RESEARCH and see that you are being ( deceived by these preacher)!
